Delicious and beautiful... what more do you want. Maybe personalized service and great communication?? The Bean Counter did that as well.... wonderful and easy vendor to work with and the cake tasted delicious!!

The cake we received from the Bean Counter was absolutely delicious! We had 2 flavors - vanilla cake with strawberry cream frosting and they also made a sheet cake for us of chocolate cake with caramel heath filling). They were both amazing! Our guests raved about the quality and deliciousness of the cake. Alice at the Bean Counter was amazing to work with. She was so accommodating and spent quality time meeting with us to get down exactly what we wanted. She took the time to sketch out the cake so we could get a visual of what it would look like. She had great suggestions but also listened to what we were thinking. We would recommend the Bean Counter to everyone!

This bakery is phenomenal!!!! The staff was amazing and the owner, Alice, couldn't possibly be more accommodating. The cake is baked the same day of your event so it is so fresh. They delivered all of the way to Hingham for us! The cake was gorgeous and they made me a special matching gluten free cupcake for my maid of honor. We raved about the cake to everyone before the wedding and our guests were skeptical... still thinking it would be a typical wedding cake. It is now a month after the wedding and people are still raving about the cake! There was NOT one piece of cake left. The groom and I didn't even get an extra piece to take back to our hotel! Some people had 2 and 3 pieces... It was really the hit of the wedding... Probably the most well spent cost of our wedding!

Alice was wonderful to work with. She is very enthusiastic and obviously loves her work. We choose a vanilla three tiered cake with a white chocolate and strawberry center for one layer and a dark chocolate mousse for the other two. It was delicious. In addition, we ordered two gluten-free cupcakes for two guests with celiac disease. They both loved them. I will definitely be using the Bean Counter again. I highly recommend them.

GLUTEN FREE brides & grooms read this!! Alice from the Bean Counter Bakery was at the Boston Bridal Expo and I am SO happy she was. I asked her if she did gluten free cake and she actually had a sample on hand for my fiance and I to try. To date, it was the best cake I'd ever tasted (gluten free or otherwise!). My fiance and I knew then and there we had to go try her cake and book her as our baker. Gluten free cake is difficult to nail with both taste and texture, but Alice's recipe does both. We tasted so many flavors, but ended up ordering the following: chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and chocolate buttercream; vanilla cake, white chocolate amaretto filling, vanilla buttercream. We also worked with Alice to design the cake from an inspiration photo. The finished product was nothing short of spectacular! Alice and her bakery staff are extremely talented and delivered a beautiful cake, just as we'd imagined! It was SO pretty. I absolutely loved it. Not only did everything look amazing, but it was unbelievably delicious. Our guests had no idea they were eating GF cake. What really elevated Alice's cakes is probably the subtle buttercream - it's not sickeningly sweet, it's simply delicious. I had ordered a bridesmaid cake from The Bean Counter Bakery, too. This was amazing, as well. It was a gluten-free lemon cake with lemon mousse filling and vanilla butter cream. I wish I could post pictures - it was so pretty! All my bridesmaids loved this cake (and the others). The lemon mousse filling is to die for! It will be well worth the delivery fee (which was quite reasonable, in my opinion) for any bride & groom looking for truly outstanding, gourmet, gluten-free wedding cakes!

Alice and her staff at the Bean Counter created two BEAUTIFUL cakes for my wedding!! The traditional wedding cake and a groom cake. Our guests are still raving about both cakes and how phenomenal they were! Not the mention delicious too! I highly recommend the Bean Counter for any cake needs!! Thank you Alice!!

We decided to go non-traditional and use cupcakes and a single 6 inch cake on top for us to cut during the ceremony. We wanted quality, but on a budget and the Bean Counter provided that. Our cupcakes and wedding cake were delicious and very pretty. They also are well known and worked with some of our other vendors which was very convenient.

The cake was included in our wedding package - we got to choose between The Bean Counter (Shrewsbury), Crowne Bakery (Worcester) or Konditor Meister (Braintree). We chose Alice & The Bean Counter because of the quality of her designs and of course the taste! After contacting the bakery, we were given her email address to set up an appointment. We were then able to select the cake/filling/frosting for the sample cake she would make for our appointment. Also, if you wanted to try the Red Velvet or Carrot Cake - she would give you cupcakes to sample. At the appointment, we looked through many photo books of designs that the bakery has made. I had found 2 designs online, so I brought the printouts to the appt and she took both ideas and drew out the cake. The cake samples were great as well! We also ordered Vegan cupcakes to match the cake (for our vegan guests). On our wedding day, the cake was beautiful and tasted amazing. We go to the Bean Counter all of the time for birthday cakes and other desserts.

The Bean Counter's cakes are out of this world. We had a three tier cake. 2 layers filled with strawberry filling and 1 with pineapple. All had a white chocolate buttercream frosting and this amazing design of scrolls in red. It was delicious!

Alice and her staff do an excellent job. Their cakes/cupcakes are amazing, delicious, and artistic. She was able to work easily with our ideas, gave us some DELICIOUS samples, and was very professional. We ended up doing cupcakes and they were soooo delectable. We even brought them into work on Tuesday (after our Sunday wedding) and they were still delicious. We are very happy we went with her very reasonably priced services! What a bargain!

The Bean Counter Bakery has so many delicious treats it is hard to chose! My husband and I did not know what to expect when we went for our cake tasting. We were able to chose 3 flavors to try and boy were they good! We ended up creating a cake with fresh strawberries in the middle and a vanilla butter cream. It was the BEST part of the wedding reception! The great thing is that when your 1 year anniversary arrives, you can bring The Bean Counter Bakery a 5 x 7 picture of your cake for them to put into a photo album -- and you get a miniature version of your wedding cake to eat FREE! No more eating year old frozen cake!

My cake was delicious and beautiful. I recieved many comments on how good the cake was. We were going for good cake flavour and definately got that from the Bean Counter!!!! The look of the cake was also just what we wanted, they really listened and came through with the perfect wedding cake!

Alice's team did a great job on my cake! I had drawn out the cake design that I wanted and it was made perfectly. We had a 4 tier cake with 4 different flavors on each tier. As a pastry chef myself I really enjoyed the butter cream frosting and rich, moist cake. The mixtures of flavor were amazing. They had a bunch of albums with tons of designs in them. For the most part they were very generic with a few show stoppers. I suggest if you want something specific draw it out yourself or bring in a photo. Alice does a great job of translating the idea into cake, but it is a good idea to start with a clear vision.

It was a really beautiful cake, but really expensive. If I had to do it again, I would probably shop around a little bit more. But in the end I did love it.

Delicious cake from a well-run establishment. I worried about nothing with Alice and her team. The cake was fantastic!

Alice was a pleasure to work with. We met with her a couple of times and she was always very accommodating. We had cupcakes at our wedding and the guests loved them! We had chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter mousse filling and peanut butter, buttercream frosting and vanilla cupcakes with rasberry buttercream filling and lemon buttercream frosting. We also had a carrot cake on the top. They were all delicious!!

The Bean Counter did an amazing job with our wedding cake! Alice was a pleasure to work with, and she was very happy to do a custom design that matched the back of my dress - and what she came up with was far more beautiful than anything I could have! Our cake was not only gorgeous but delicious - we had three different flavors because we couldn't decide which we liked best. Many guests told us how wonderful our cake tasted. Alice was very professional and was very available to me. I would highly recommend the Bean Counter!
