Cakes to Remember

Incredible wedding cake! We met Ellen with some pictures and ideas for our cake, she took the time to get to know our wedding and helped us figure out the best style for our theme. The cake was exactly what we ordered and absolutely beautiful! It tasted great too!

Hands down the best wedding cake I have ever ever had. Cakes to Remember supplied the cake for our wedding at the Hampshire House and we were so very happy with it! There is no generic sugar sweet taste, the flavors are sophisticated and perfectly paired.

My groom and I wanted a very simple cake, and thought that the flavor and taste of the cake was more important than how it appeared. Cakes to Remember definitely delivered on both fronts, though. They offered a variety of flavors and combinations that were very fragrant and yet classic. We ended up getting a cake with different flavors on each layer. They piped beautiful scrollwork on the Tahitian vanilla buttercream frosting, and accented it with dragees without making it garish. I think flowers really have got to be their specialty; when I visited the shop they had beautiful sugar flowers there, and our cake had beautiful pink roses done in frosting on the top. It looked splendid, and they also gave us a separate smaller anniversary cake to eat!

We had our wedding reception at the Hampshire House in Boston and as part of their wedding package, they include the cake – which just so happens to be a cake from Cakes to Remember… and all I have to say is ‘boy do they make good cakes!’ We chose the Chocolate Kir Royale cake; a chocolatey devils food cake filled with a rich dark chocolate raspberry filling and frosted with Chambord champagne buttercream! The next morning, my sister was raving about the special dessert we served at the reception and asked what happened to our wedding cake we cut - - the cake was so good that she thought we served something other than a traditional wedding cake! Cakes to Remember did a fantastic job and I’ll certainly keep them in mind when I need a cake for our next celebration!

Ellen is fabulous, we highly, highly recommend her. She is professional, highly competent, a pleasure to work with and a very, very talented cake artist. We tried several cake places before choosing her, at all price ranges, and we were confident that choosing Ellen was the absolute best decision. It came down to taste, although the entire process working with her was great too. Ellen took the time to sit with us and talk about the look and feel of our wedding, got to know what we liked, showed us cake photos and took careful notes to make sure she knew what we wanted, gave us cake samples to try... the whole process was thorough and easy, and we got the perfect wedding cake as a result. Our guests all commented that in addition to looking gorgeous, our cake tasted so, so good. This was the sweet sendoff that topped off a wonderful party, that first bite of chocolate raspberry deliciousness after a few hours of dancing and we just looked at each other and started smiling. Thank goodness we chose Ellen. Our guests will not soon forget our delicious cake, and neither will we. Ellen's cake for our wedding was incredible--simple and elegant and very delicious. A number of people from our wedding commented on it, which I considered amazing, because I have been to a lot of weddings and never even remembered the cake. She worked with our florist to get fresh flowers on the cake, and I never had do a thing. The best thing I can say--and this, to me, is huge--is that Ellen took care of everything. Ellen and the team at Cakes to Remember were wonderful. Not only was the cake the best wedding cake we have ever had (and guests agree unanimously), but Ellen found a way to create our perfect cake that integrated the bright colors of our wedding while keeping it elegant. She also switched up the design perfectly when our guest count changed 3 weeks before the wedding. If we had to do it all over again, she would be the first person we called.

Ellen did an amazing job on our cakes! Our groom's cake blew everyone away. They couldn't believe it was a cake at all! The inside was red velvet and it was delicious!Our wedding was equally breathtaking. The buttercream was perfectly smooth, like the finish one would expect from fondant. The sugar flowers were gorgeous! And most importantly, it tasted amazing! If I have ever another reason to buy a special event cake, I'll be getting it from Cakes To Remember.

One word - AMAZING!The cake looked fantastic and really matched our whole theme very well! We chose three different flavors and the biggest problem was figuring out which one was our favorite! It may be the carrot cake! Our guests cannot stop raving about it,and I could not have had a better cake!

Ellen is such an artist! (and she makes her *own* fondant, which if anyone knows anything about cake baking, you know that's a skill that is highly desirable) We went in not knowing what to expect in choosing a cake, but she really listened to our ideas and noted our color scheme, our tastes, the kind of flowers we wanted (none of our details were even really worked out at this point). When our details finally came together we sent related images to her -- we were hoping to achieve something along the lines of Talavera tilework for our cake -- and were totally unprepared for what we received --> a sketch of our cake (with color suggestions) that blew our minds! Still, we had decided to go with buttercream frosting, so we were a little nervous to see how it would actually turn out. Honestly, I can't even explain sufficiently how amazing the cake looked - and moreover, how good it was! Konditor Meister-schmeister -- Ellen Bartlett is the best!

Ellen was spectacular to work with. She understood that we wanted a grand and elegant cake, while keeping the design simple. I'm still getting compliments on the design and TASTE of the cake. Both my husband and I are carrot cake lovers and have tasted many types of carrot cake recipes. Ellen's is by far the best. We can't wait for our one year anniversary to eat the cake once more!

Ellen made our cakes for the Rehearsal Dinner (Groom's Cake) & for the wedding and they were both AMAZING. They were so beautiful and our guests said our wedding cake was the best cake they've ever had. The Groom's Cake for the Rehearsal Dinner was truly a work of art. Highly recommend Cakes to Remember!!!

Ellen at Cakes to Remember made us the most delicious wedding cake - I would recommend going there to anyone getting married in the Boston area. All her cakes were delicious, and it was hard to decide on exactly what flavor we wanted. The design was also beautiful - exactly what I wanted - and had guests raving!

This was the easiest part of my wedding planning. We met with Ellen once, figured out what we wanted for a cake and she took care of the rest. She worked with the Copley and our florist to get everything perfect. So many people commented on our cake, and we absolutely loved it. One of the best parts was the tasting, all of her cakes are amazing, we had the hardest time deciding, but we went with the classic wedding white with a raspberry filling, it was so good!!

I loved, loved, loved my cake. It was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked. Designing the cake with Ellen was one of the highlights of the planning process. They also made incredible custom cookie favors for us.

The cake was gorgeous -- I wanted something simple, and she was able to help me find just the right design by showing me photos of other work she's done and non-edible models in her studio. As far as I could tell, everything was perfect on the big day, and the cake was delicious. We'll be looking forward to enjoying it next summer!

Ellen at Cakes to Remember was fabulous. We had a very good idea of what we wanted when we got to our appointment with her. It was quick and painless. I especially liked the way she had us do the tasting at home rather then at the bakery with her. It was very comfortable and she was more then accomodating. We liked her so much we had her make us a anniversary cake for some friends and family as well!Great experience!
