My daughter had her wedding reception at the Embassy Suites hotel in Waltham, MA in June 2011. The coordinator/catering manager Megan Galbraith did an terrific job. The total package price was an excellent value because it included a pre-reception hors d'ouevre reception in the mezzanine, the reception meal in the ballroom, the wedding cake, the complementary bride and groom's hotel suite, a reduced rate for our out-of town guests, and a made-to-order full breakfast the next morning. The package also included food tastings of the meal menu and a separate cake tasting. We were given 3 cakes (6-8 servings each) to take home because we couldn't schedule a time for us all the get to the hotel.Megan was very attentive. I was able to drop off things ahead of time and she had the table centerpieces made up to the bride's specifications. I was also able to drop off hotel guest bags we put together and she made sure our guests got them when they registered. We had a large bridal party (8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, parents of the bride and groom) and we were given the use of a room to set up before processing into the reception hall.We had stayed in the hotel before and liked it then. Now the hotel has been newly re-decorated and it is even better. It is classier yet edgier at the same time. We liked the re-arrangement of the front lobby, especially the glass waterfall wall. Our guests loved the reception food and the breakfast. My husband and I stayed overnight after the wedding, even though we live only four miles away. We were able to relax that night and then spend time with our guests at breakfast. I would recommend all parents of the bride and groom do this. Having our daughter's reception at the Embassy Suites was an excellent choice for us. The only very slight negative was that some guests found the road signage (by the town, not the hotel) confusing. It directed them to Winter Street away from the hotel. The sign for First Avenue is the actual one to follow, even though the hotel address is Winter Street. Maybe the hotel should use a First Avenue address to avoid some confusion.Mother of the Bride,Watertown, MA

We had our son's Bar Mitzvah at the Doubletree Waltham. Darwin was a pleasure to work with. All calls and emails answered promptly, special requests acknowledged, questions (multiple) answered in a straightforward manner, was flexible up to and including the day of the affair. The venue was a great value in comparison to the other hotels we looked at. Would highly recommend this hotel for a Bar Mitzvah. I assume a wedding would be equally flawless.

If I could rate higher than "five stars" I would have! My husband and i ended up at the Doubletree in Waltham after our original venue closed down without notice, just three months before our wedding date. What could have been a disaster turned into the best thing that happened for our wedding day. Darwin Mann, the catering manager, was unbelievable in not only accommodating all of our needs, but anticipating them. I honestly do not know what we would have done without Darwin. Professional and knowledgeable, he instilled a confidence in us so all we had to worry about on the big day was to relax and have fun. His advice was always thoughtful, personal, and expert. Ladies, he even knows how to bustle. I could go on and on, but the fact of the matter is if you want to have a beautiful, stress free wedding your guests will rave about, go see Darwin at the Doubletree in Waltham!

Got married here in November of 2009 and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff was very professional and accomadating to all of our needs and wants for a perfect wedding! Cost was budget friendly but had a 5 star value! Would recommend to everyone looking to feel like a king and queen on their special day!

We couldn't of picked a better place to have our wedding. With a year of planning our big day, we were very pleased with the ceremony and reception setup. Our family and friends all had something good to say about the hotel. I really enjoy working with Dawin Mann the Senior Catering Manager. He was so accomanding to all my request and gave great suggestions, which is something a bride needs to plan her big day.

The Doubletree Guest Suites in Waltham was an excellent venue for my wedding. My guests are still raving about what a beautiful wedding it was. What made it so special were the details, such as the quaint white lights on the trees in the ballroom and the wonderful displays Darwin set up for my guests. There were fresh fruit platters and champagne bottles decoratively set up to go on my dessert table. The linens were gorgeous and affordable. Everything went well and smoothly. Compared to other hotels in the area, the price was great (which is a concern for most of you brides seeing as weddings can be exceptionally expensive). Finally, we got so much for our money; it was fabulous. I would always recommend the Doubletree Guest Suites in Waltham.

Darwin Mann and his staff were very helpful, understanding and took the time to listen to my husband and I to create the wedding of our dreams. We were so pleased we went back to Darwin to assist in planning my baby shower a year later.

The toughest part of planning my wedding with them (by the way back when I had my wedding they were the DoubleTree Waltham) was that about 4 months before my wedding the wedding planner I had worked with doing all my planning with left. The event went well the day of, with the exception that the food did not see to be either the same food or as good of quality as we got at our tasting. The serivce and attention to detail did make up for it though.
