My first thought was that hiring an event planner would be one more expense on top of a lot of expenses: cool site, caterer with tasty food, a band professional enough to play a wedding but cool enough to play ours, flowers, cake, suit for me, dress for her, rings, the list goes on. But when I thought about it, I don’t have connections to or knowledge about any of these things, nor do I care to, so wouldn’t an event planner actually help me save time AND money in choosing the right providers to help us make our wedding day great? Of course. They made simple “yes” or “no” questions out of things we didn’t even think about, or that could’ve become issues on the big day had they not been addressed effortlessly well beforehand.
And most importantly, I wanted my fiancée (now wife!) to be happy before, at and after the wedding. Hiring an event planner to reduce her stress level, and who was there at every turn to make our lives easier leading up to and at the big day was the best investment of all. Holly and Harrington events made our special day come off without a hitch. They conduct themselves in a highly professional manner but with a personal touch. Halie and I both give two thumbs up!

We hired Holly Harrington-Stern of Harrington Events as our “month of” wedding coordinator. We were so lucky to work with her and her team. They were fantastic. The best way to describe Holly is extremely detailed, dependable, and easy to work with. She knew all the right questions to ask during our initial meeting and kept us on a realistic timeline to ensure that all of our preparations were complete before the wedding so we could relax and enjoy our big day together.
Holly introduced herself to the other vendors early on in the planning process and worked seamlessly with them straight through to the wedding day. She mapped out the timing of the day and gave us and all of the vendors a print out of the schedule. On the day of the wedding, she worked closely with the vendors to ensure that all of the events stayed within the schedule.
We were so impressed with how smoothly everything went! From the biggest detail, right down to the smallest detail, Holly was on top of everything. We were especially impressed with how quick she was on her feet. If we ever had a question or concern, she had a solution.
Holly did an amazing job as our “month of” wedding coordinator. She went above and beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend her to anyone.

Holly at Harrington Events is great to work with.
Harrington Events provided the right upscale touch to our wedding tent. Creative chandelier and soft pink uplighting turned an otherwise regular-looking tent into a hollywood-like party and was the most talked about detail.

Below is a section of the thank you letter that my husband and I wrote Holly after she found us the perfect wedding destination. We had been engaged for a year, going back and forth on possible wedding ideas with no luck. The issue was that we wanted the destination wedding feel (outdoors, a small several day event) but my parents do not fly. A friend of ours introduced us to Holly and after meeting her, we contracted with her to run our location selection process. She found us exactly the beautiful and caring environment we were looking for. In fact she has great instincts because it was the first location she showed us. We selected a wedding date exactly three months away from the date we signed the venue contract.
In addition, she helped us negotiate contracts with the venue, photographer and referred us to the DJ company and other venders. Since then I have contacted her for vendor and ideas on other family events.
We would have hired her for the day of, but she was already committed elsewhere for the open dates of the venue we selected. She would have found us another person to assist on the day of, however she could sense that with the caliber of the venue’s coordinator that it would have been money wasted. She was right, from one professional to another, she left us in good hands with the venue coordinator.
Here is part of the thank you letter we wrote her:
Holly, we can not thank you enough for all the time you spent coming up with possible wedding locations, getting prices, and driving all over multiple states to show us our options. We had wasted so much time and energy on silly destinations, locations, and plans. All along we knew the feeling we wanted our wedding to have, but could not describe it, let alone find a destination that would achieve it.
In the end you helped us secure the emotional setting we wanted for ourselves and our guest throughout our wedding weekend. It is amazing how you were able to read us, and know just what we were searching for, even though we could not articulate our dream.
Holly, please consider us as a professional reference whenever needed.

Every detail was addressed and last-minute surprises easily managed. She had excellent recommendations for vendors and used her expertise to help us spend our budget wisely. Working with Harrington Events was possibly one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process. Holly Harrington was recommended to me, and I knew from the first time we spoke on the phone that she would not only help me plan a wonderful wedding, but that she would be receptive to my ideas and make me feel comfortable throughout our working relationship.
My most outstanding praise comes from the fact that I lived across the country from her and from the location of our wedding, and I never once felt as though I was out of the loop. Harrington events was phenomenal! Holly new exactly what I wanted/needed even before I did. She was very creative and knowledgeable as she guided me through the process of organizing my rehearsal dinner (I had an outdoor picnic for 75 guests so it was almost another reception), through choosing music for both the ceremony and reception - she helped us find the perfect song for our first dance, all the way through to ensuring every last detail was met. We had a wonderful weekend and everything went off without a hitch!
