Modern Bride and Formal Shop

This is one of the most important days of my life, my wedding. I spent a day going to several bridal stores in NH with my wedding party and my mom. To look for the dresses for the bridesmaids/maid of honor/flower girl and my mothers dress. We received the best service and selection from Modern Bride. I went back to Modern Bride to look for my wedding dress. It was just my mom and I. I saw on there web site they have a large selection of dresses in the store to try on. Val R. came right up to me while I was looking through the racks of dresses. To see if I needed any help. I did need help as I have never done this before and had no idea where to begin. I just knew I really wanted to find something very special. We talked about what I liked and she went and got me several dresses and helped me with them. She stayed with me until I found the perfect dress. She was very knowledgeable and patience. She was very friendly and caring. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I felt like I had all her attention in helping me find my perfect dress. She made me feel this was as important to her as it was to me. She made this experience very special for me and my mom. I went back with my bridal party to order the dresses I had picked out and we had the pleasure of dealing with Sara. She was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. She also helped us find a beautiful dress for my mother. She sized everyone and submitted everyone’s orders. I have 8 girls in my wedding party and my moms dress. Also anytime I have called with questions about the web site, the dresses and suits. I have always received great service from the many employees that have answered the phone and assisted me. I would recommend Modern Bride to everyone. The experience was memorable. I am very pleased I choose this bridal shop for all my dresses.

After a terrible experience at a different vendor, (where I had to make an appointment, yet still wait 20 minutes for a whiny salesgirl to waste an additional hour of my time not listening to requests or descriptions of what I was looking for), I was understandably reluctant to go looking for my dress anywhere else. Armed this time with my mother, I walked into Modern Bride without an appointment. I was greeted within three minutes of our arrival by Val, the kindest and most efficient of sales women I've ever met. Val assured me from the beginning of my visit of her confidence that we'd be successful in finding what I was looking for. I shared with her that "I was no good at this type of thing as I did not really enjoy shopping." Her reply: "don't worry dear, I am very good at this type of thing." And she was... she let me browse briefly at some dresses before I shared a few pictures from magazines of what I thought I might like and she proceeded to pull two georgous designer gowns out that not only fit perfectly (thank you, Val, for knowing my size!) but were absolutely what I was looking for and would never have been able to describe. I wanted an antique looking dress that was simple and elegant and the corset lacing up the back was the icing on the cake. Val was funny, witty and easy to work with. I so enjoyed this experience that I plan to guide everyone I can in my wedding party to make their purchasing or renting arrangements through Modern Bride. As well, when I was called within 24 hours by the woman who ordered my dress, she shared with me options for getting my dress more quickly. I had unfortunately waited a little late to get the dress and so was at risk of a very late arrival (no room for alterations). The women at Modern Bride helped to come up with alternatives that will get my dress here quicker and in time for alterations. That is customer service! Absolutely the best! I am a mother of the groom (can't believe my son is getting married) and I had a great experience at Modern Bride. Jackie J was wonderful to me. She kept handing me dresses to try on, all the while talking to me about my tastes and opinions on the dresses. I was done in no time at all and acutally found a dress that I love!! Thank you sooo much Jackie!!

I bought my gown and all of my maid's dresses at Modern Bride. We went in the morning of our appointment and were immediately greeted by our attendant, Sarah. She was fabulous. She set us up with our rooms and helped us to pull gowns. She let us take our time, try on a ton of dresses, gave opinions when we asked and treated us well. The gowns we chose were all well-priced and beautiful. I had two fittings before the wedding. Amazingly I needed not one alteration! My dress was steamed and ready for me when I picked it up. Thanks, Modern Bride!

After checking three other bridal shops, my daughter found the one she wanted at MB. She also chose her wedding party's attire at MB. Most of her bridal party did not live near Bedford, NH so it was a bit of a challenge for them to get there for fittings and I don't understand why these shops do not have Sunday hours which would be more convenient for most people. As one post mentioned, they also told each bridesmaid that they needed to order two or three sizes bigger than normal. Two of the bridesmaids were a size 0 and MB talked them into ordering size 6 "because the vendor sizes ran small" and two of the bridesmaids were pregnant at the time of fitting and MB ordered them three sizes bigger than they usually wear because of the "baby weight"; well, all of the sizes they ordered were way too big and cost plenty to have altered. One bridesmaid was adamant that she was ordering a size 0 and nothing else and her gown fit perfectly! So, I suggest if you buy your gowns at MB insist on the size you really want and don't go with the hard sell of a larger size! As for the tux rentals, none of them fit (11 groomsmen and FOG!) and all had to go back the day before the wedding to get the correct sizes. I don't understand how they can take measurements and not get the sizes right. My daughter had some other issues with MB and chose to have her dress altered somewhere else, which saved her a couple hundred dollars. They were never rude however and seemed pleasant each time we were there. They have a very nice selection of gowns and offer clearance dresses for $10; which I bought 5 of! But they are not flexible in their hours and I don't find any value in ordering larger sizes just to get the alteration $$$$'s. I am going to say that I would not recommend MB mainly because of the tux fiasco; but if you stick to your guns under their hard sell and advise you will find their selection of gowns to be bountiful. And they let you browse the store without constantly asking if you need help and when you do need help, there is someone very eager to serve.

I got my dress as well as bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dress all from Modern Bride. The sales staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were not pushy at all. They helped me find the perfect dress at a more than perfect price! I felt comfortable the minute I walked in the door. They had the best selection of any store I went to and definitely the best value. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding dress or formal dress for any occasion.

Modern Bride is a wonderful dress shop. There was zero pressure while I was perusing, my salesperson (Val) was very helpful while we were figuring out the details and the seamstress was more of a magician. As this is a Maggie Sottero showroom salon there are many beautiful gowns at many reasonable price ranges. All the delivery dates set were met, my gown arrived on time, I was always able to get someone on the phone who was able to answer my questions, the selection of accessories was vast and the staff was genuinely happy to be there working. The girls at Modern Bride work with very excited brides all day long... they match that excitement with real happiness. Well done and thank you!

I found the exact gown I had wanted and was thrilled. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to help me find a certain BM dress I was seeking. However.... My alterations cost $275 and my dress was only $540. They told several of my BM's to order larger and all had to get their dresses altered several sizes. They trusted Modern Brides suggested dress sizes. My sisters dress was sewn wrong around the bust. She had it altered there and the seam under the chest was all messed up. Unfortunately she thought it was normal and did not realize it was different until my wedding day when she saw everyone elses. As for my dress I was very very disappointed with the final product. I live out of state and one of my BM's had to pick up the dress for me. I was able to finally try it on the night before the wedding which was 2 hours from Modern Bride. When I put it on there was a big hole in it. The way my dress fell and where it was you could not notice it too much. I shrugged it off and was thankful I had a beautiful dress. However while dancing at my wedding, the seam came apart on the other side of the dress.

The staff and owners at Modern Bride take a personal interest in all of their customers. Not only did they help me find the perfect wedding dress, they also supplied our tuxes. Brian was very helpful in putting together a look for the bridal party that incorporated everything we wanted. When we needed to re-rent the groom's tux in order to have formal pictures taken (due to a reception cancellation), Brian was very understanding and even loaned us a display tux, rather than charging us for a full rental. At every turn, the way they dealt with us made it clear that their customers are not just a 'paycheck' for them, but they really care about the business they are in.

My experience at Modern Bride was amazing! The consultants were so helpful with the picking out of my dress and accessories. They were beyond patient with my mother-in-law, who ended up buying two dresses from them because she couldn't decide and had multiple fittings for the dress she decided to go with. The alterations for both my bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses came out perfect. The owner went above and beyond with the ordering of a second bridesmaids dress for one of my girls who originally ordered the wrong size, no fault of theirs. And it seemed like everytime we went in the owners were there and knew who we were and really cared about us. I would highly recommend this shop in the future. Loved it!

Modern Bride staff was wonderful to work with. We purchased my wedding gown, mother of the bride dress, mother of the groom dress, flower girls and seven bridesmaids dresses. We were very happy with the fit and service!

I ordered my flowergirl dresses from Modern Bride. They were very helpful and called as soon as the dresses were in. Both times I went to Modern Bride I was very impressed with the amount of wedding dresses they had for brides to try.

I loved this store! There is no appointment necessary, they let you look through the dresses on your own and try on as many as you like, and the salespeople are helpful but not at all pushy. They have a great selection and prices are pretty standard compared to other bridal shops. My sister bought her wedding dress here and it was the first place I went when it came time to buy my own dress. I recommend them to everyone in the Southern NH and Boston areas!

I loved my dress! They got my dress in early! Alterations were not as expensive and my dress fit perfectly when they were done.

Modern Bride and their staff were absolutely wonderful to me, my bridesmaids and both mother of the bride and groom. Their staff truly cares about your day and making it perfect.

I had a fantastic experience at Modern Bride. This was the first place I went "just looking" and came back to purchase my dress here (first one I tried on!). The service here was great and they definitely helped me get the best deal on my dress. I even purchased my jewelry here, which I hadn't planned on. They had recieved a new shipment in and they brought all the new pieces to me as I was doing my final fitting. I was looking for something simple and they had the perfect necklace and earings for a very reasonable price. I always enjoyed my time spent at Modern Bride.

Modern Bride was such a breath of fresh air after having visited other bridal salons. Their selection is great, but what I appreciated the most was that no appointment is required, and you're free to look around and try on whatever you like without any pressure from the staff. They are pleasant, flexible, knowledgeable, and very very helpful, but they're not pushy like the staff you find in chain stores. Prices for alterations were very reasonable. I also love the fact that they have an adjoining lingerie shop!

Modern Bride and Formal Shop was the perfect topper on my wedding day. I already felt like a million dollars wearing the gown I had always dreamed of. I never dreamed of wearing real diamonds of this quality on my wedding day. I was so impressed with the beauty and quality of jewelry for such a low cost. I received so many complements all night.

Modern Bride made my wedding day unforgettable. My gown was gorgeous and fit like a glove and my bridesmaids were simply radiant. We received so many compliments and guests are still talking about how beautiful we looked. All of the staff worked so hard to have my gown and my bridesmaids dresses perfect and ready to go for my big day.
