It's 2 months after my wedding, and I needed to come on here and talk about my experience with Simply Elegant Linens...They were the single point of stress I had during the entire weddding planning process. In the very beginning, Gina was super easy to reach, and answered emails very quickly. I was able to make an appointment with her, in which we agreed on the linens and chair covers I wanted, and I gave her a deposit. I was told I would get the contract emailed to me, to print and sign and mail back to her, within a few days. A week later, I emailed her, reminding her that I still needed the contract. No response. this went on for over a month. I had originally met with her in early February (2/4/11), and did not actually get a copy of the contract until the end of February, and it had a bunch incorrect information. I didn't receive the corrected copy to sign and return until March 6th! Just being glad I finally got it, I signed it, and sent it back. At that point, there were red flags, but I didn't do anything about it which was a bad decision on my part. I took the next several months to focus on all the other things I had to do, knowing I wouldn't need to discuss any more details with Gina until closer to the wedding, when I actually had a final headcount, and was making the seating chart.Once again, she was pretty difficult to contact. a month before my wedding on 8/8/11, I wanted to get the contract updated to include the now-accurate numbers of everything, and I sent several emails, and made several phone calls. When I finally reached her, she quickly told me that yes they have my info, but they have another wedding ahead of mine, and they are focusing on that one. OK. Fine, but an email would have been nice. I felt better at least knowing that she did receive my updated numbers. As it drew closer to the wedding, I still hadn't had an updated balance, since we had made changes. It was stated that the contract has to be paid in full by 9/8/11, since the wedding was 9/11/11. After calling and calling again, she finally sent me the updated balance due on the contract late in the evening on 9/5/11, which I had to mail the check THAT following day in order for her to receive it by 9/8/11.On Friday, 9/9/11, TWO DAYS before my wedding, she calls me and tells me that the overlays I am supposed to have, were damaged at a wedding they used them for 2 weeks prior, and she just got them back from the cleaners, and they have wax all over them, and she can't use them. She gives me a few options, but what choice do I have really? the wedding is in two days. I opted to go with the table runners, since they are at least still going to match the sashes on the chair covers. She tells me verbally, over the phone, that those cost less, so she will cut me a check for $195.00 and leave it with my DOC at my venue the morning of the wedding.after the wedding, that night, while my new husband and I were gathering our things to head home, I spoke with Kaitlyn our Day of coordinator, and she said that Gina never left a check. She also informed me that they were short 3 chair covers. I called Gina on Monday, the day after our wedding, and asked her about the check (I never mentioned the chair covers to her, because honestly, the check was the bigger issue. The wedding was over, but I wanted my $195!!), and she told me that she never saw anyone to leave the check, so she was putting in the mail that day for me. I always want to believe people, and give them the benefit of the doubt, so I was fine with that.We left for our honeymoon, and was gone for almost 2 weeks. When we returned, it occured to me that I never saw her check in the pile of mail on our kitchen table. I emailed Gina again, and she insisted she mailed it. I explained to her that we did not receve it. She responds back that "she will look into it".It is now 11/10/11 - and we have still not received the check, and my last email asking for an update on the status of the check on Oct 21st, went unanswered.I strongly suggest, that if you want a smooth transaction with a vendor for linens, with easy communication, and transparency, Do NOT use Simply Elegant.
